1.1 Q1. ) In the story “A Rose for Emily” by William Faulkner, The main stylistic /literary device is the use of flashback and foreshadowing that highlight on the aspects of time. Hence, these are some of the commonly used literary devise used by William Faulkner in his story “A Rose for Emily” (Tibbett, p6). In this story the writer used these in developing the plot of the structure of the story.
The flashback is used by the writer to show the time or things that happened before the beginning or the present stage in which the story is. While, foreshadowing is used by the writer to predict or show the future expected occurrence thus showing the reader what they are supposed to expect later on in the story (Tibbett, 3).
1.2 Q2.) O’Brian’s story “The things they carried” has some connections between the physical and emotional baggage that thee soldiers carry. This is clearly seen in the physical and emotional ways the solders conducted there activities. In the physical aspect the soldier was supposed to be dressed in a manner that will ensure that the soldier is protected from harm by the enemies. While, on the emotional part the soldiers were filled with a lot of emotional distress that made them be less remorseful to the Vietnamese during the war.
1.3 Q3.) The style used by Alice Walker in the story “Everyday use”; in the story the writer uses point of view narration in most parts of the work. This element used by the writer provides the reader with an understanding of the story and the family background. The narration also helps one to know the characters traits of the characters in the story, as Mrs. Johnson will always give out her point of view and at the same time narrate the story thud developing the plot (Musere, p6).This enabled the writer to show the character traits of the characters, employing other stylistic devices including Flashbacks and symbolization and also developing the plot of the story thus resulting to the flow of ideas in the story (Musere, p4). Symbolism plays a critical role in this story of perfectessay. Thus, the writer has used Dee as the subject that leaves her own culture and adopts to another culture as a way of showing others that she is educated and informed, but this in the long run result to resentment by there family members or society.
1.4 Q 4) in the story “A worn path” written by Eudora Welty the use of the Point of View style of writing is used thus a third person style is used in the story this ensures that the reader knows each and every thought of the main character who in thus case is phoenix Jackson, therefore the reader will be able to note the thoughts of Jackson, and at the same timer ensure that the readers view Jackson the same perspective as the others characters in the story view her (Welty, 3).
2.0 Part two
In this paper we are also going to highlight on the stylistic device that has been used in the short stories titled “A Rose for Emily” by William Faulkner, Faulkner have employed some literally styles in his works as highlighted and experienced by the readers of these works this includes the use of Exposition Conflict, Climax and Falling action, Point of view, First person narration, Flashbacks and Foreshadowing, Omniscient, Irony and Narration.
The story “A Rose for Emily” by William Faulkner is a story that begins in the funeral of Emily who was a great person in the Jefferson town, in the story flashback is used narrating the life of Emily after the death of her father who left her a very big house and no money; this left her with a problem of socializing with the community, her worker To be was the only person she was living with in the huge house.
Different literary devices used in the story “A Rose for Emily” by William Faulkner in making the writer manage telling the story is the use of different literary styles in his work, these different styles helped the writer in coming up with the plot of the story (O'Brien, 45).
The mostly used literally device in the story “A Rose for Emily” by William Faulkner is Flashbacks and Foreshadowing in the entire work this literally device has enabled the person to get the exact plot of the story. In the story the writer has used flashback this is when he started the story with Emily’s funeral and later in the story; he uses flashback on the times Emily was still alive through perfect essay, a suitable example is the narration of a confrontation that ensued between Emily Grierson and Tax officials two decades earlier before her death. The writer has incorporated flashback in his work by incorporating Emily’s earlier contribution in the town of Jefferson, and this is when she opened a painting school that helped the children in the community, she was seen as a very important figure (monument) in the city of Jefferson as she helped in the development of the society (O'Brien, 47).
The writer has also used Foreshadow in the story; this is when describing the house of Miss Emily as in this extract “a big, squarish frame house that had once been white. Decorated with cupolas and spires and scrolled balconies in the heavily lightsome style of the seventies whose front door remained closed” (Tibbett, 2). This description gave the reader a clear picture of what Emily’s house looked like and also giving the audience a complete look of the ways Emily life transformed from being a simple girl who inherited a big beautiful house from her father who left her without money, to an old lady who lived in a big house all by herself, and couldn’t maintain the house that appeared to be very ugly by the time she died.
flashback is also employed in the story; when the writer used different scenes in narrating the story, in exploiting this writing style therefore flashback style of writing has ensured the reader to know more about the characters in the story, it has also exploited on the thoughts and ideas of the characters thus making it easy for them to understand the reasons of there behaviors and interactions (Tibbett, 4) an example is while in the funeral of Emily, the writer narrated the villagers who came to the funeral had there mission for attending the funeral as the men went to the funeral with the sole purpose of giving Emily a honored funeral and the women went to the funeral just to look at the inside appearance of Emily’s house.

As defined by Cheryl, (2002) critical thinking is an intellectual disciplined process of applying skills, concepts, analyzing, synthesizing, evaluation of information got by , observation, reasoning, experience, reflection, as a guidance towards an action. Nugent & Vitale, (2003) defined critical thinking as an attitude of thinking towards solving problems that comes within the range of one’s experience.

Definitions Comparison

The differences between the definitions are, according to Cheryl, (2002), critical thinking is taken as an intellectual process while Nugent & Vitale, (2003) portrays it as an attitude. The later also see as a way of solving a problem but the former say that it leads to taking the necessary action. The first definition also gives us a consistence way in which critical thinking works, but the second one just talk of range in which one is experienced.

A nurse should follow a careful and systematic process in executing his/her duty and thus the best-suited definition is that of Cheryl, (2002). First nursing duty requires a lot of intellectual skills and discipline. This is because there is no room for mistakes. Either once a mistake is done through ignorance or through carelessness, a life somewhere is lost. For a nurse, every detail offered by the sick person is very important. Thus, analyzing each concepts and synthesizing the information given is equally important. This is because, if she/he is trying to diagnose a certain disease, fine details are required to ensure that the disease suffered is the one treated. For a nurse, before any action is taken clear observation is done (Consador 2009). This is will always eliminate the idea of guesswork because one is dealing with people’s life. Appropriate reasoning is required in nursing to ensure that required action in treatment is taken. This is enhanced by proper reflection and strong experience in the nursing field. Thus integrating all the required procedures as stipulated in the definition of critical thinking by Cheryl, (2002) and Nugent & Vitale, (2003), the nurse in his/her full capacity will be able to execute duties fully.



Definition of Critical Thinking and its Relevance in Clinical Decision Making
Critical thinking is a strong concept acquired through the process of approaching an issue using systematic skills and experience attained by virtue of education, interaction, communication, observation and through analysis and accurate data correction and entry using appropriate facts towards attaining most appropriate solution.
For a decision to be arrived in the nursing field one has to probe thoroughly and critically examine the information gotten before making the final decision. Taking an example of a nurse working in the Intensive Care Unit where the patient may be in coma and must be treated (Callicoatt & Colgrove, 2006). The process of approaching such an issue requires systematic skills and experience for appropriate decision-making. Such skills are adapted through critical thinking with the use of knowledge and existing facts when well interpreted.
Practitioners in nursing must be accurate and precise in making decisions (Knapp 2007). They should always be lead by the virtue of listening; collecting appropriate data, analyzing it correctly and by the norms and intellectual standards of nursing gives a correct decision . In a hospital setting, there are always hustle and bustles. Patients entering and others leave. So, a nurse is required to be sane to be able to execute his/her duty. Thus without communicating to the fellow nurses, one my find it difficult to give correct information Therefore, communication is vital to help judge once decision by comparing different ideas before giving a decision that you may not be well conversant .
Education is a very important aspect in critical thinking. Especially for a nurse, one should be well informed on type of disease patient is suffering from. Some diseases have very close symptoms thus without good knowledge, one is liable of making a mistake in arriving at decision on how to treat or prescribe medicine. The consequences of wrong prescription or treatment may lead to permanent personal damage or death. Thus, to perfect once degree of critical thinking, education is very important. To refresh once critical thinking, it is advisable also to attend different medical trainings and workshops
Another very important issue is interaction according to ZoriL & Musil, (2010). Once you interact with many people of similar profession, you get to acquire different ideas that you had not thought of. This will always boost Your capability of judgment on issues. Interactions help one to broaden once mind and enhance once a bility of making good decisions. One is exposed to extra experience from different broad-minded people. Interaction may also be exposure to different disease diagnose and different patient. This gives one confidence in future to deal with the same ailment or patient of similar sickness with ease.

Skills When Making Clinical Decisions.
Getting information is paramount in improving critical thinking as Manoochehri & Memarian, (2005) stipulate. The information of those things that seem not to clear can be gotten from different clinical materials. One can read health and clinical journals, intellectual journals, go to clinical website or else hospital library. Most of the information is learnt from the environment we are in. for example, one has to analyze his/her environment to understand what is required of him/her or not. Different people have different likes and preferences. As a nurse, you are either helping a doctor in surgery room, or attending patient in the hospital. Thus, one should always be guided by professional ethics as you try to analyze group influence. This will help you improve your critical thinking.
To improve clinical critical thinking, one has to internalize intellectual standards required in nursing. Such things as accuracy in data collection, clarity in drugs prescription among others must always be on the fingertips . These qualities should be practiced on daily basis to make them part of life. As a nurse, one should fight with once ego. This makes one to be bias in judging a certain scenario unconsciously. This may lead to making bad decisions. Therefore, practicing intellectual traits and admitting when you go wrong will make you go miles away as far as decision-making is concerned.

Comparison between Presidents Abraham Lincoln and Barrack Obama

Introduction:
President Abraham Lincoln was born in February 12th 1809 and was elected as the 16th Presidency to United States on his first tern in 1961-1865 He was later re-elected for a second term but was later assassinated. President Obama was born in August 4th 1961 and was elected to be the 44th president of United States in 2009. Both presidents have a great skill of communication by managing to get straight to the critical issues affecting the country while creating the feeling of nationality for his listeners. This is an amazing speaking skill.
In addition to that, both presidents found themselves being elected into presidency when the country is in a middle of crisis for instance Lincoln was elected when his country was entangled by the strong feelings towards slavery and a civil war that was about to occur. These challenges were overcome. Obama on his side was elected into office during the economic recession, which was as well overcomed .Obama was also elected during a time when fight against terrorism was at its peak and the effects of united engaging in international wars like the Invasion of Iraq.
Lincoln was a republican candidate in 1860 who was known as a moderate who could appeal to the west with help of republican offices and supporters, he was able to win his campaigns by telling hi life story as a child who was raised in poverty who made his way to the top. Obama was able to win his campaign by creating hopeful and a better tomorrow for American by using his catch phrases “Yes we can” and his inspirational posters which in many ways helped to promote his ideals for change in America.
Both presidents are reformers in their way of leadership. Lincoln was able to introduce reforms that were to stop the oppression of the black community and against the slavery that managed without disintegrating the nations unity, Obama has since introduced reform agendas in various sectors of the economy like the health and political reforms.

Why school shootings occur and how to stop it

School shooting has been experienced in many parts of United States and this has been a unique teen violence which is unexpected, senseless and insidious. The teen crime has led to deaths of many students, teachers and workers within the school compound to achieve perfect essays. School shooting is different from other violent acts committed by youths such as drug dealers or organized gangs (Schiller David, 1999). The main reasons that lead to school shooting are categorized into physical, learned and behavioral factors.
Physical factors include personal complications such as abnormalities or personal disorders. Behavioral factors include elements such as difficult personality such as problems of impulsiveness which makes a student rebellious and ignorant (Tony, 2006). Harsh treatment of children and family break-ups may result to school shooting. Learned factors include bullying at school which makes the troubled student to retribution or revenge. This has been one of the most contributors to school shooting which has made school administrators to act against such crimes.
Prevention of school shooting is the role of school administrators, parents, students themselves, government and experts in legal matters. Some of the appropriate measures necessary to stop school shooting include first, proper communication with students by well trained individuals and staff. Second, close monitoring of students by teachers to analyze whether there is change of master papers and behavior will help to curb the problem.
Any change of behavior noticed should be reported to the administration to enhance execution of proper measures. Third, design schools without hideout places where students can hide their fire arms. A student body of well trained students should be incorporated to report any stranger within the school compound. The student body should also report any student with problems in relation to bullying.

Why are student athletes dropping out of school? We learn from Joshua Huffman from Associated Content (Huffman, 2009) that student athletes are leaving school early for professional sports jobs. He says that, “Today, more student athletes are leaving school early for a chance to pursue their dream of professional sports.
